The Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defense
By Susette Haden Elgin
Note: The first name is spelled differently due to my keyboard having a few keys that don't work.

We all know we have had been attacked verbally by someone in our lifetime. More often more than we even think of. Most of the time we don't even know it until later when we deal with all of our hidden emotions we were not able to yet identify.

If you knew were going to be attacked in the future, wouldn't you prepare physically and set up boundaries, preventive measures etc.?

Of course. Then does it not make sense to do that with words as well?

It also has situations that involve others' egos that try to feed off of your guilt and other feelings.

I have just started reading this and will update.
